Chief Economist of the International Trade Council, Tristan Evans, and Executive Director of the International Trade Council Africa, Derick Akubia, paid a courtesy visit to Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Kenya, Ruvini De Silva.

During the meeting, the officials discussed Sri Lanka Expo 2027, including opportunities for greater engagement and participation in the upcoming international trade and investment event.

Discussions also focused on the upcoming Sri Lanka Expo 2027 Briefing Sessions, scheduled to take place in Nairobi on 25 September 2026 and in Mombasa on 2 October 2026. The sessions are expected to provide stakeholders with information on the Expo, its objectives, and opportunities for businesses and investors.

The meeting underscored the importance of strengthening trade, investment and economic cooperation between Sri Lanka and African markets, with particular attention to opportunities for collaboration between Sri Lankan and Kenyan business communities.
