The High Commission of Sri Lanka in London successfully concluded its two-day Special Consular Service held on 01 and 08 August 2026 at the premises of the High Commission, in response to the consular needs of the Sri Lankan community in the United Kingdom.

The Special Consular Service was organised to facilitate Birth Registration, Citizenship Registration and Passport Application services for newborns, enabling Sri Lankan nationals and families to access these essential consular services through a dedicated programme.

Over 200 members of the Sri Lankan community were served during the two-day programme. The initiative provided a convenient platform, particularly for parents of newborns, to complete the relevant procedures and access multiple consular services during the dedicated service period.

The successful conduct of the Special Consular Service reflected the High Commission’s continued commitment to strengthening the delivery of consular services and facilitating access to essential services for the Sri Lankan community in the United Kingdom.
