Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Bahrain, Shanika Dissanayake, held discussions with the senior management of the Hypermax Supermarket Chain to explore opportunities for Sri Lankan exporters to expand their product reach across Hypermax outlets in Bahrain.
The Hypermax officials expressed keen interest in sourcing quality fresh fruits and vegetables from Sri Lanka, in addition to a range of other fast-moving consumer goods. The officials commended the high quality and value-added packaging of Sri Lankan products showcased at the Embassy, noting their potential to appeal to Bahraini consumers.
The Ambassador highlighted the Embassy’s ongoing efforts to promote export-led growth through proactive engagement with major importers and retail chains in Bahrain. These partnerships are expected to create pathways for Sri Lankan products to access the wider Gulf market. The Ambassador further invited the Hypermax team to participate in the upcoming Sri Lanka Expo, scheduled to be held in Colombo from 14–17 January 2027.
The Embassy continues to engage with major importers in the Kingdom of Bahrain as part of its economic diplomacy mandate.
